Our family knew we were on our way to surgery. They had been waiting at home most of the day for updates. We had told them we reserved at least the first hour with Ella, no mater what happened, so please not to wait at the hospital. They all made their way to the hospital as soon as we were back in our room. Everyone got to meet and hold Ella. Even Audrey.
Our time together was an incredibly joyous and beautiful, yet also sad. We marveled at her Duncan face, full head of wavy black hair, her soft pudgy skin, chunky legs and long skinny fingers. No one imagined she would be 9 lbs.
The beautiful Mindy Larson came and took such wonderful pictures for us that we will always treasure.
